Princess Nyia, Miss Day 5 Charters

Princess Nyia is a 15-year-old sophomore at South Fort Myers High School and has lived on Fort Myers Beach for nearly a decade. She attended Beach School and cherishes the memories of her childhood in the close-knit community. Though Hurricane Ian brought significant challenges, it also taught her resilience and the importance of community. Through it all, her family has remained on the beach, continuing to call it home. She is proudly sponsored by Day 5 Charters.

An active and driven student, Nyia participates in cheerleading and JROTC, with aspirations of becoming a JAG lawyer. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, designing nails, baking, and simply being home.

Nyia is passionate about giving back, volunteering in the children’s ministry at her church and supporting fundraising campaigns for foster children—an issue close to her heart as a former foster child herself. She hopes to pursue a career in family law, where she can make a meaningful impact on children in crisis. Nyia is honored to be part of the Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival and looks forward to celebrating this cherished community tradition.
